Hours: Regular Full-Time

Salary: $20.33 - $26.33/hour depending on qualifications

Purpose of Position

 

The Assistant Printing Clerk adheres to quality control standards, contributing to the timely and efficient processing of Print Shop jobs. They handle tasks such as machine setup, maintenance and adjustment.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

· Performs regular and specialized operator functions including but not limited to scanning, digital filing, setup, proofing, production, and post-production.

· Operates Print Shop equipment and software, including but not limited to high speed digital print equipment, finishing equipment, mechanized paper cutters, coil binders, and laminators. Maintains and performs complex trouble shooting procedures on this equipment as necessary.

· Coordinates with Divisional couriers to ensure timely distribution of Print Shop output.

· Enters and retrieves work orders from source documents on a personal computer, requiring both interpretation of the source document and basic understanding of common software (e.g. Outlook, PDF Creator, Microsoft Word).

· Performs other duties as may be assigned to support the efficient operation of the Print Shop.

 

 

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

Skill and Knowledge – Required:

 

· Grade 12 education or equivalent.

· Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office.

· Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

· Ability to maintain discretion with respect to sensitive or confidential information.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Well-developed customer service skills.

· Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

 

Skill and Knowledge – Desired:

 

· Previous experience in a printing environment.

· Familiarity with production printing equipment and WebCRD software.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

 

· Must be able to frequently lift objects up to 50 lbs.

· May require prolonged periods of standing.

· Exposure to printing chemicals, and airborne particles such as paper dust and dry powder.

· Exposure to noise that is usually moderate to loud.
