Reports To: Coordinator of Clinical Services

Location: Administraton Office
Hours: 16.25 hours/week (0.5 FTE) - 10 month (school year position; schedule TBD)
Hourly Salary Range: as per the EAPT Collective Agreement
Language Requirement: English

Purpose of Position
The Audiometric Technician will screen and review hearing and identify (school-age) students who require referrals to the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Completes assigned paperwork consistent with the hearing screening provess.
- Conducts basis hearing screening for kindergarten, grade one, aany new student, and newcomer students under the direction os Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Review findings with Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Screens early years, middle years, and senior years students as identified by school teams.
- Ensures the calibration of screening equipment and repair.
- Supports the use of Soundfield systems for schools, which includes setting up and trainng teachers i nthe use and care of the system.
- Performs other duties aas may be assisgned to suppoet the efficient opation of the Department.
Skills and Qualifications
Skill and Knowledge - Required:
- Grade 12 education of GED or equivalent comvination of skills and experience.
- Ability to adapte testing process to accomodate the needs of students being served.
- Ability to work in a professional and collaborative manner across multiple locations with all Pembina Trails Staff.
- Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to maintain discretion with respect to sensitive or confidential informaiton.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Skil and Knowledge - Desired:
- Manitoba Industrial Audiometric Technical Certificate is desired or enroled in a related program and working towards certification.
- Minimum one-year experience directly related in the field, or a combination of education and experience.
