1.0 FTE Permanent Curriculum Consultant - French
Effective September 2, 2025
Applications are now being accepted for the 1.0 FTE permanent position of French Consultant, effective September 2, 2025. The successful candidate will become part of the division’s curriculum consultant team. This team is comprised of consultants who report to the Principal of Curriculum and Learning and Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Assessment and Learning.
Responsibilities of the French Consultant:
- To support the collective understanding of the philosophy and voice of French in our school communities.
- To continue implementation of The French Immersion Policy in Manitoba and any updated curricula
- To provide professional development to teachers in assisting with curriculum implementation, instruction, and assessment practices in French.
- To collaborate with other members of the Curriculum Consultant team on common initiatives and priorities.
- To assist in the promotion of French Immersion & French Culture & Communication in Pembina Trails School Division.
Applicants for this position should demonstrate that they:
- Are knowledgeable of the needs of all students in French Programming, including second languages acquisition pedagogy in a cross-curricular way.
- Are knowledgeable and have successful cultural competence experiences in working with all students and have experience in meeting diverse learning needs.
- Possess excellent collaboration, communication, decision-making, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
- Possess excellent leadership skills in the acquisition, distribution, and management of appropriate learning and teaching resources.
- Have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in learning and teaching.
- Have a demonstrated commitment to professional development and growth;

Qualifications
- Valid Province of Manitoba Teacher’s Certificate
- Bachelors, Post Baccalaureate, or Master’s Degree in Education with a focus on French and second languages methodology
- Bilingual: fluent in both oral and written English and French
- Extensive and varied teaching experience in French Immersion
- Knowledge of the Cadre européen commun de reference pour les langues (CECR), French Revitalization and the Diplôme en language française (DELF) would be considered an asset
