Purpose of Position
The Human Resources Administrative Support role is responsible for assisting the Human Resources department with a variety of administrative support functions. This includes filing, data entry, posting employment opportunities, following up on outstanding paperwork, assisting with the preparation of letters, etc
Key Responsibilities
- Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Receives and distributes mail.
- Assists with the maintenance of the filing system.
- Assists with the posting of employment opportunities using recruitment software and/or recruitment platforms.
- Follows-up on any outstanding paperwork for new employees.
- Assists with data entry.
- Assists with the preparation of letters.
- Assists with the collection, organizing, and maintenance of various departmental records and information.
- Photocopies and distributes materials as required.
- Assists with the scheduling and testing of applicants on various software applications.
- Participates in the Educational Assistant placement process.
- Onboarding of new lunch program supervisors and crossing guards.
- Provides back-up support to the Receptionist as needed.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned to support the efficient operation of the Department.
Skills and Qualifications
Skill and Knowledge – Required:
- Grade 12 education or GED and administrative training or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm.
- Ability to maintain discretion with respect to sensitive or confidential information.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritize.
- Well-developed customer service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Skill and Knowledge – Desired:
- Prior experience in an educational environment.
