Annual Salary Range: $33.19 - $42.15 depending on qualifications

Purpose of Position

 

The Pembina Trails School Division’s Learning and Information Technologies department oversees all technology throughout its 35 schools and admin offices.

 

Working with other technology support staff in the Learning and Information Technologies (LIT) Department, the Software and Application Support staff are responsible for supporting, training and communication for all divisional software and applications used by staff members, school trustees, and senior administration. (Such as SIS-Mayet, LMS-Edsby, School Messenger, eScribe, M365 Applications, etc.).

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

· Provides telephone and remote software and application support for all staff.

· Provides onsite support and training when required.

· Develops and provides manuals, presentations, and workshops for divisional software and applications.

· Prepares communication and information for staff regarding IT deployments and outages.

· Maintains a list of software and applications.

· Provides support and assists with maintenance of divisional websites and portals.

· Provides basic support to Pembina Trails families for use of Divisional platforms.

· Creates and maintains FAQs for Software and Applications.

· Performs other duties as may be assigned to support the efficient operation of the Department.

 

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

Skill and Knowledge – Required:

 

· Post-secondary education in Information Technology or another related field or 3?years equivalent work experience.

· Demonstrated technology experience including Microsoft Office, education software, and proprietary enterprise level software.

· Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritize.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of employees with various skill levels.

· Excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal with complaints and concerns effectively.

· Keen attention to detail.

· Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

 

Skill and Knowledge – Desired:

 

· Prior experience in an educational environment.

· IT-specific certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Net+

· Experience delivering software training.

· Experience with school-based applications. (Edsby, School Messenger, Mayet)

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

 

· Work is performed mainly in an office environment, however, may also need to work in schools.

· May be required to do some heavy lifting.

· Class 5 Drivers License and reliable vehicle.
