0.917 FTE Term, Physiotherapist 

Effective: September 2, 2026 to June 30, 2027

 

 

Physiotherapist

 

The successful candidate will have pediatric experience and will work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, serving students from kindergarten to 21 years of age, with significant physical and developmental challenges.  Duties include student observation, assessment, programming and evaluation.  Physiotherapists are required to train school staff to implement programming recommendations, to lift and transfer students safely and to provide professional learning to staff related to the discipline.

 

Qualifications

  • Degree in physiotherapy (bachelor's or master's level)
  • School clinician's certificate or willing to obtain one
  • Licensed to practice physiotherapy in Manitoba
  • Eligibility for membership with the National Physiotherapy Association

Experience

  • Contribute to a working partnership with team members to realize the inclusive and collaborative values of Pembina Trails School Division
  • Assessment of physical status including strength, motor control, flexibility, endurance, posture, gross motor skills and mobility
  • Assessment of environmental access including classroom and work sites
  • Identifying specialized equipment needs including standers, lifts, bicycles, fit and use of orthotics and mobility devices
  • Identifying student-specific programming based on validated interventions
  • Developing student-specific evacuation plans
  • Administration of standardized and non-standardized tests
  • Writing student-specific reports and year-end status reports
  • Supporting school teams in developing individual education plans

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle
  • External applicants must supply a Criminal Record Search and a cleared Child Abuse Registry check upon hire
