Applicants with experience and/or qualifications in one or more of the four areas of the Manitoba Arts Curriculum (Drama, Music, Dance, and Visual Arts) are encouraged to apply.
MUSIC TEACHER – KINDERGARTEN TO GRADE 6
The successful candidate should be:
- certified in either Orff, Kodaly or Jaques-Dalcroze approaches to music education
- comfortable teaching in an Orff classroom
- able to model good vocal technique
- able to model good recorder technique
- able to use movement activities to support musical learning
- able to use a variety of strategies to help students to “think musically”
- familiar with the current K-8 Manitoba Music Curriculum
- familiar with Manitoba Provincial Report Card requirements
- willing to provide support for staff members using music in their classrooms
- willing to support learning across the curriculum in the music classroom
