1.0 FTE Permanent, Inclusive Classroom Consultant and New Teacher Coach 

Effective September 8, 2026

 

 

 

The division is seeking a collaborative, relationship-focused Inclusive Classroom Consultant and New Teacher Coach to support effective classroom instruction and teachers in their first three years of practice. This non-evaluative role provides job-embedded coaching and professional learning that strengthens instructional practice, fosters inclusive and responsive classroom environments, and supports the successful induction of early-career teachers across the division.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Build confidential, strength-based coaching relationships with new teachers.
  • Provide classroom-embedded support including co-planning, co-teaching, modelling, and observation.
  • Support new teachers in implementing:
    • Strategies for cultivating safe, welcoming classroom climates through intentional routines, inclusive language, and approaches that promote self-regulation and student well-being
    • Community-building practices, collaborative learning structures, and the integration of diverse perspectives and materials into classroom content
    • Universal Design for Learning (UDL) practices that proactively anticipate learner variability and offer multiple means of engagement, representation, and expression
    • Effective assessment for learning and differentiated instruction
  • Facilitate New Teacher Cohort sessions and professional learning workshops.
  • Develop and curate essential resources to support new teacher induction.
  • Collaborate with school leaders and divisional instructional coaches to ensure aligned and coherent support.
  • Promote teacher well-being, reflective practice, and sustainable workload habits.

 

Qualifications

  • Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in inclusive classroom practices, Universal Design for Learning, assessment for learning, and culturally responsive instruction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach adults using a non-evaluative, partnership-based approach.
  • Experience supporting diverse learners, including EAL and students with complex needs.
  • Proven ability to design and facilitate adult professional learning.
  • Knowledge of Manitoba’s Indigenous Education frameworks, including but not limited to:
    • Manitoba K–12 Indigenous Education Policy Framework
    • Treaty Education Framework / Treaty Education Curriculum Outcomes
    • Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action (Education)
    • Divisional Indigenous Education priorities and Working in Good Ways approaches
  • Demonstrated ability to embed Indigenous perspectives, land-based learning, and relational accountability into teaching and coaching practices.
  • Knowledge of Manitoba’s French Immersion program and provincial policy frameworks.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English considered a strong asset.
  • Additional training (post-baccalaureate, master’s degree) in curriculum, inclusion, or leadership is an asset.

 

Conditions of Employment

  • Clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check are required prior to start date.
  • Travel between school sites is required.
