MUSIC TEACHER – KINDERGARTEN TO GRADE 6

The successful candidate should be:

  • certified in either Orff, Kodaly or Jaques-Dalcroze approaches to music education
  • comfortable teaching in an Orff classroom
  • able to model good vocal technique
  • able to model good recorder technique
  • able to use movement activities to support musical learning
  • able to use a variety of strategies to help students to “think musically”
  • familiar with the current K-8 Manitoba Music Curriculum
  • familiar with Manitoba Provincial Report Card requirements
  • willing to provide support for staff members using music in their classrooms
  • willing to support learning across the curriculum in the music classroom
