Wages: $29.00 per hour as per CUPE 4588-01

Purpose of Position
The Truck Driver is responsible for maintaining reliable, efficient delivery services of all daily moving of furniture, computers and equipment for the entire Division.
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Maintains reliable and efficient cartage services for the entire Division.
· Assists maintenance staff as may be required for removal of construction debris.
· Delivers furniture, computers and equipment for all departments to the various destinations as directed by the supervisor.
· Provides pick up of refuse unsuitable for BFI bins as may be required at all Division facilities and transports to a sanitary landfill site for disposal.
· Performs routine maintenance inspections and washings of vehicles used in daily operations.
· Ensures that the vehicle used is kept in good operating condition, reporting mechanical or other problems and/or servicing requirements to their supervisor.
· Assists in the repair of furnishings within storage i.e.. Stage sections, chairs, risers etc. as may be required.
· Performs other duties as may be assigned to support the efficient operation of the Department.
Skills and Qualifications
Skill and Knowledge – Required:
· You must possess a valid Class 3 Manitoba Driver’s License and have a good driving record.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritize.
· Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Skill and Knowledge – Desired:
· Prior experience in an educational environment.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
· Work involves some standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
· Ability to lift objects weighing more than 25 kgs.
· May be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, fumes, and hazardous/poisonous chemicals.
· On occasion may be required to work beyond normal working hours, including weekend or evening work with short or no notice.
· Provide emergency response outside of regular work hours when required.
