1.0 FTE Permanent Student Services Consultant  

Effective September 2, 2025

 

 

Applications are now being accepted for a 1.0 FTE permanent position - Student Services Consultant position. This position will commence in September 2025. The successful candidate will join the Division’s Inclusive Support Services department and will be a contributing member of the Pembina Trails Leadership Community.

 

This position is one of five Student Services Consultant positions which focus on supporting and coordinating Appropriate Educational Programming for students with additional needs in Kindergarten to Grade 12+. The consultants report to the Divisional Principal of Learning and Inclusion who reports to the Assistant Superintendent – Inclusive Support Services. Each consultant is responsible for approximately seven schools, and each take the lead in assigned Student Services areas of responsibility.

 

Applicants must:

  • Be knowledgeable in terms of the needs of all students, and in particular those with diverse learning needs and abilities
  • Have demonstrated leadership skills in the areas of inclusive teaching and assessment practices including assessment practices
  • Have demonstrated knowledge in universal design for learning including differentiated instruction, adaptations, modified and individualized programming
  • Have demonstrated success working as a member of a collaborative team including clinicians and divisional consultants
  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving, facilitation, and technology skills  
  • Have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning
  • Have a demonstrated understanding of the Standards of Student Services and appropriate educational programming
  • Have a demonstrated commitment to professional development and personal growth planning  
  • Have experience in Early Years, Middle Years and Senior Years

Quali?cations:

  • Extensive teaching experience with a background in Resource or Counselling
  • Manitoba Inclusive Education Certificate, School Counsellor Certificate, Coordinator’s Certificate, Post Baccalaureate Certificate or Master’s Degree in Education with a focus on Inclusion
  • Valid Manitoba Teacher’s Certificate
  • Bilingual in English and French an asset

Responsibilies:

  • To support and provide divisional leadership in inclusive practices and Student Services
  • To coordinate and deliver professional development for school leaders, teachers and educational assistants
  • To participate in research and planning in the area of Student Services
  • To build capacity of school teams and facilitate solution-focussed discussions
  • To collaborate with the Curriculum Consultants and Clinical Services on divisional initiatives  
  • To support school-based support staff in teaching and learning
  • To provide liaison with Manitoba Education and community agencies
  • To coordinate programming and assessment activities in the area of Student Services
  • To facilitate placement and transition meetings with school teams, including parents, guardians and caregivers, divisional staff and community supports
  • To assist school teams with the development of student-specific plans, needs assessments, and selection and development of materials for the support of students with diverse learning needs and abilities
  • To assist school teams to develop student-specific plans on a variety of platforms, including clevr

Compensation will consist of teacher’s salary plus a consultant’s allowance as per collective agreement.
