Annual Salary Range:                   $26.22 - $32.59 per hour depending on qualifications

Purpose of Position

 

The Human Resources Administrative Support role is responsible for assisting the Human Resources department with a variety of administrative support functions. This includes filing, data entry, posting employment opportunities, following up on outstanding paperwork, assisting with the preparation of letters, etc

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Receives and distributes mail.
  • Assists with the maintenance of the filing system.
  • Assists with the posting of employment opportunities using recruitment software and/or recruitment platforms.
  • Follows-up on any outstanding paperwork for new employees.
  • Assists with data entry.
  • Assists with the preparation of letters.
  • Assists with the collection, organizing, and maintenance of various departmental records and information.
  • Photocopies and distributes materials as required.
  • Assists with the scheduling and testing of applicants on various software applications.
  • Participates in the Educational Assistant placement process.
  • Onboarding of new lunch program supervisors and crossing guards.
  • Provides back-up support to the Receptionist as needed.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned to support the efficient operation of the Department. 

Skills and Qualifications

 

Skill and Knowledge – Required:

  • Grade 12 education or GED and administrative training or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm.
  • Ability to maintain discretion with respect to sensitive or confidential information.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritize.
  • Well-developed customer service skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

 

Skill and Knowledge – Desired:

 

  • Prior experience in an educational environment.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

 

  • Work is in an office environment.
